This video tutorial series shows how a parametric prestressed concrete bridge can be created using Rhino / Grasshopper and SOFiSTiK. The parametrics allow the route and gradient of the bridge axis to be adjusted. The position of the column can be varied. Both the superstructure cross-section and the column cross-section can be selected. It is possible to bind variables to the route, for example to change the height of the bridge section along the route. The prestressing is also applied. Furthermore, the abutments are inherently parametric. The dimensions of the foundation, the wing walls and the support bench are freely adjustable. Load cases for a line load and for a column settlement are also generated as examples. The entire model is linked to and is automatically updated and calculated when there are changes in the parametrics.
